Encounter card Opinions

With the quest’s main mechanic surrounding the Loot objectives, any method of retrieving them is going to score points towards the favorite encounter card in the deck. As such, it is no surprise that Forgotten Crypt won this week’s award for best encounter card.
As for least favourite encounter card, there were a couple of high-ranking cards, but Slammed Shut was the winner. This Hazard treachery forces players to exhaust a character they control and prevents characters from being readied until the end of the round by player card effects. This throws a massive wrench into your plans, especially in the early game when you don’t have that many characters to rely upon. Plus, it raises your threat by 1!
Cool moments that happened during the games
A forgotten crypt stayed in my staging area since about the 4th round, and came in handy once I discarded the last loot card during the 3rd stage, as I could actually finish the quest.
It’s a bit of a grind, but at least strategic use of Forgotten Crypt can retrieve loot objectives without having to reshuffle the encounter deck.
I stalled forever on stage 2 to get the treasure by revealing Fram, and finally got the encounter deck down to 3 cards, and of course he got dealt as a shadow. Never got the treasure and won’t be replaying.
I took 15 minutes too long for the achievement 😭
I brought a Burglar’s Turn + Heirs of Earendil deck, churning out locations as fast as I could and I was able to empty my Loot Deck by the time I won the quest
I managed to finish a game in 10 rounds (30 minutes) on dragncards. At the end, I was repeatedly playing Lords of the Eldar to quest for over 50.
Got hidden staircase to trigger twice from the Abandoned Ruins? Treachery. I didn’t find a hazard either time so I got to lower both threats by 6
Ended the quest with both decks at 49 threat. Firyal and Erkenbrand both employed their abilities to avoid last minute threat increases.
