With the new Wilds of Rhovanion Deluxe box taking a lot of inspiration from the original Core Set scenarios, a reworked version of Passage through Mirkwood was inevitable. The quest is the first one that any new player plays when they dive into this game, and it has a reputation of being the easiest quest … Continue reading Lost in Mirkwood
A new year, and its first month brought us quite a lot of new content. Not only did I finally receive two new expansions for the game (last one was way back in July), but we also got more news articles from FFG. The blog also did good, although I did a lot of preparation … Continue reading Month in Review: January 2020
At long, long last I finally got my hands on this first Adventure pack of the final cycle. While the pack was originally scheduled for the end of Q3 and would have been available at Con of the Rings, it took well over 2 months longer to finally find its way into my collection. But … Continue reading First Impressions: Wrath and Ruin
With the hero's tournament almost a month behind us, it is time to wrap up the next monthly poll that I had running on the site during the month of January. This poll required you all to make the difficult choice of what two Shadows of Mirkwood cycle scenarios you liked best. For most of … Continue reading Monthly Poll: January 2020
Chances are that this article will be out before I cover my first impressions of Wrath and Ruin. This is due to the delays that first AP had, and that City of Ulfast fortunately didn't have that much of. This pack is a very solid one, and I have gotten to play with many player … Continue reading First Impressions: The City of Ulfast
Happy birthday to the blog! 2 years ago, I started this project, and am now looking at a blog that is one of the most active parts of the community. While we have faced some hardships in the past year, the blog is still going strong, and will continue to be around for the forseeable … Continue reading Second year Anniversary
It has been a while since the latest overview of a Nightmare scenario, but since I picked up the entire first cycle in Nightmare mode, I thought I might as well try and bring you all another one of these. The Dead Marshes has been a quest that is easy to forget for most players, … Continue reading Nightmare The Dead Marshes
During the tournament in 2018 that determined the community's favourite quests at that moment, Journey along the Anduin ended in fifth place. This Core Set classic has always been a community darling, since it was the first proper challenge that we collectively faced. While the Nightmare version did increase the difficulty of the quest, the … Continue reading Journey Up the Anduin
Much like last year, I decided back in November that I would do another tournament style poll. This time I wanted to know what the community's favourite hero was, since there was little use in doing another scenario competition like last year as not a lot of new quests were released between now and then. … Continue reading Monthly Poll: December 2019
This will be the final article of this decade, and I wish everyone a happy new year within a few hours (or it is already 2020 if you live in Australia by the time this goes up). Unlike last year, I did not take a hiatus during December, and managed to keep pumping out the … Continue reading Month in Review: December 2019
