If you’re relatively new to the game and picked up the most recent expansion like most of us start out doing, chances are you weren’t prepared. I was not prepared at all, to say it mildly. I first started with The Lost Realm, a few years back, and I’m only 16 just now. I barely … Continue reading A Beginners Guide to The Haradrim Cycle
It has been decided. A fellowship will set out from Rivendell to deliver the One Ring to its destruction in the cracks of Mount Doom. The walkers set out to brave the pass of the Redhorn Gate but are driven back by the might of Caradhras and have to set out towards the Doors of … Continue reading The Ring Goes South
After I have played with this box for a while now, I have managed to beat all three scenarios and wanted to share my thoughts on them. This is not going to be an in-depth article, and I will try to steer clear of the narrative spoilers in the booklet for anyone who hasn't played … Continue reading First Impressions: Wilds of Rhovanion, Quests
Hello all, allow me to briefly introduce myself. My name is Matt Duckworth and some might have seen my commentary in the LOTR LCG Facebook forum. I also occasionally publish decks in RingsDB as mduckworth83 (yeah, not very creative with gamer tags, I know!). I have been playing the game since about the time the … Continue reading Secrecy
For the past half year, I have now run this blog with a lot of success. The articles are appreciated by most and I keep on updating the articles whenever a new combo is found, a new player card would tech well against a quest or if somebody spots a mistake in the quest. And … Continue reading A Call to Arms

In this short article, I share some of my first thoughts on the cards and the Dale trait out of … Continue reading First Impressions: Wilds of Rhovanion

Now, your fellowship tries to make its way to the safety of Rivendell, but you have to cross through dangerous lands to get there while you are being pursued by the enemy. And at the same time, Frodo’s … Continue reading Flight to the Ford
Into Fangorn is one of those quests that you tend to forget about. It didn't really stand out at the time, as a lot of players were struggling to capture Mugash in the previous scenario. Since the Dunland Trap was released soon after, this quest didn't get much attention. That is not to say that … Continue reading Into Fangorn
It has been kept secret and kept safe, but now four players from Minnesota that have been active players for a long long time have announced something big. Check this Kickstarter for more information without reading my thoughts on this. Con of the Rings This is a three-day convention that is all about the Lord … Continue reading Con of the Rings Announcement
This is a real gem of a quest in this cycle. It is not very difficult and is the go-to quest for any deck that wants to include some Secrecy cards. The quest also introduced us to the biggest let-down in terms of objective allies, Nalir the Dwarf. This objective is anything but helpful during … Continue reading Trouble in Tharbad
