I know I said after my Drúadan Forest review some years ago that I would never cover a quest in such a negative tone again. But boy, did I find another quest that I find unfair, and you are all here to read me whining about it. Under the Ash Mountains takes a few mechanics from previous … Continue reading Under the Ash Mountains
Well, the first month of the new year is behind us. It does still have the feeling of 2020 though, with people rioting in my country and no visible light at the end of the tunnel yet. But we will carry on and hope for the best. In the meantime, let's reflect on all the … Continue reading Month in Review: January 2021
We are already approaching the end of the first month of 2021, which means we can conclude the poll and start a new one! For the past month, I have been asking people what their favourite Ship objective from the Hunt for the Dreadnaught pack has been. These ships are rather unique and offer the … Continue reading Monthly Poll: January 2021
With these turbulent times, it is sometimes difficult to keep track of time. Just a few days ago, I realised that January was already approaching its end, which means that the blog turns 3 years old today! It is hard to imagine that I have already been publishing articles and committing so much time to … Continue reading Third year anniversary
Classic Into the Pit is one of my favorite testing quests for new decks. It combines having to explore some locations in the first stage with a combat-focused second stage, so your deck has to do well at both. Now don't worry, we won't be talking about spreadsheets of active cases in your area or anything, this article will only contain graphs and spreadsheets that are relevant to the blog and my personal games that I have played this year. I do this every year, so I can compare statistics between years and see … Continue reading 2020: A year in numbers
This is it, the final month of a year that lasted a lifetime. While there is a light at the end of this tunnel, I hope that end will come soon so that things may return to normal in the new year. I will only briefly talk about this month for the game and the … Continue reading Month in Review: December 2020
Completing our trifecta of Core Set quests, we have Escape from Dol Guldur. This quest comes with a warning from the entire veteran community to new players: Skip this quest and go back to it later when your card pool has expanded. This quest can be brutal with just Core Set decks and still proves … Continue reading Escape from Dol Guldur
This month's poll ended a little earlier, as the upcoming holidays don't allow me enough time to work on the article, so I might as well push it out now. Over the past month, I have polled what scenarios from the Vengeance of Mordor cycle are your favorite. I have done this for every cycle … Continue reading Monthly Poll: December 2020
I received my copy of Hunt for the Dreadnaught last week, and having played the quest a few times now, I have decided to bring back the First Impressions series one last time before we enter the hiatus. This quest is rather unique, plus the pack came with an additional contract, so I want to … Continue reading First Impressions: The Hunt for the Dreadnaught
